Event Details

Parcel Players, Oglebay Institute’s summer theater program for students ages 13 through college, will present two plays again this summer.

Students interested in participating can attend open call/auditions at 7 p.m. May 30 & 31 at Towngate Theatre. Those seeking roles can attend either of these dates. Parents are welcome to attend.

Begun more than 35 years ago, this annual summer theater program offers young people interested in theater a chance to act, direct, design sets, work with costumes, lighting and more.

2017 Parcel Players productions include:

“Treasure Island,” by Ken Ludwig. Based on the masterful adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, “Treasure Island” is a stunning yarn of piracy on the tropical seas. It calls for a cast of up to 22 males and/or females. Daniel Loh directs, and the show is in production July 12-15.

“Godspell,” the immensely popular rock opera by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak calls for a cast of 5 males and 5 females. Tim Thompson directs. Walt Warren is music director and Cheryl Pompeo is choreographer. “Godspell” is in production August 2-5.

All those interested in exploring theater and participating in the Parcel Players’ productions are invited to participate. For more information, please call 304-233-0820.
