Schrader Environmental Education Center
People who have an interest in the outdoors would love volunteering at the Schrader Center. Volunteers are needed to help lead programs with children and adults, work on the trails, help maintain the butterfly gardens and assist with special events. Mansion Museum
People who are interested in
history and like to work with the public are encouraged to become
volunteers at the Mansion Museum. The volunteer program currently
includes more than 50 individuals who give their time greeting
the public, serving as tour guides or working on special research
projects with the curator.
Volunteer opportunities: greeting the public, tour guides, special research projects with the Museum curator
Benefits: Free admission for volunteer and
his/her immediate family to the Mansion throughout the year,
free or discounted admission to Museum programs, special programs
and social events for volunteers only, a monthly newsletter
and an opportunity to actively support historic preservation. |
| Performing Arts |
Towngate Theatre & Cinema
"Volunteers don't come to Towngate with experience, they come to gain experience," according to theatre expert and longtime artistic director Hal O'Leary.
Volunteer opportunities: any phase of theatre production: actors, stagehands, costume, lighting, scenery etc.
Benefits: Volunteers receive two tickets to production and discounts at the concession stand, ushers receive free admission as well. |

Stifel Fine Arts Center
Volunteer opportunities: exhibition season assistants (assist with organizing and hanging exhibitions), assistants for elementary and middle school art programs (in-school and field trips), pre-school art programs, summer art camps and special events.
Benefits: internship credit or volunteer credit hours depending on the requirements established by the school, exchange volunteer hours for free tuition to visual arts courses, hands-on experience for students majoring in art or education. |
