Just in time for the holiday season, Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre in Wheeling presents a holiday play to bring out the Christmas spirit in all ages!
“Prancer” will be staged at 7pm Friday, December 6 and 3pm Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8.
About the Show
This theatrical rendition of the 1989 film tells the story of a misunderstood, young farm girl whose holiday spirit inspires those around her.
Young Jessica’s family has fallen on hard times. Still, she keeps her belief in Santa Claus and the idea that there are miracles in the world. When an injured reindeer appears in her backyard, she believes it is Prancer—one of Santa’s nine flying reindeer. While she is nursing the creature back to health, the whole community eventually learns about Prancer, causing big problems for Jessica as she tries to return the reindeer home.
Based on the cherished film, this rendition of “Prancer” uses a heartwarming story and imaginative puppetry to bring light into your holiday season.
