Halloween Fun Awaits Families at the Schrader Center

Celebrate the creatures and creativity of Halloween! Enjoy family-friendly programs throughout the month of October at Oglebay Institute’s Schrader Environmental Education Center in Oglebay Park.

Hallow-Palooza

On Saturday, October 21 enjoy “Hallow-Palooza: Pumpkin Patch Painting & Scarecrow Building”

Kids can bring their creativity and Halloween spirit and help build props for the Schrader Center’s 2nd annual “All Hallows Eve” event. Compete for prizes, too! Scarecrow building takes place from 1-2:30pm; Pumpkin Patch Painting is 2:30-4pm.

Cost is $5 ($4 OI members) for individual sessions or $8 ($6 OI members) for both. Pre-registration is required. Register at OIonline.com or call 304-242-6855.

All Hallows Eve

“All Hallows Eve” takes place Saturday, October 28. Explore the Schrader Center’s trails on a self-guided tour as fanciful and frightful creatures wait around the next turn. Also, enjoy a campfire, marshmallow roasting, Halloween crafts for children and up-close visits with the Schrader Center’s spookiest animals.

A family-friendly scare takes place from 5-7pm. Adults and teens can enjoy a scarier scare from 7:15-8:45pm.
