Parcel Players Auditions at Towngate Theatre

Parcel Players, Oglebay Institute’s summer theater program for students ages 13-21, will hold auditions May 28 and May 29, 2024 at 7pm.

This annual summer theater program offers young people interested in theater a chance to act, direct, design sets, work with costumes, lighting and more.

Two productions will be staged for Summer 2024.

Participants will be asked to read from the scripts. No prepared monologues are necessary. For the musical, please prepare a song. Please bring sheet music or a recording for Bluetooth.

Bring your schedule with any conflicts you may have over the summer. You can audition for both plays in one evening or come to both nights, whichever suits you and your schedule.

About the Play
“Fools” is the comic tale of Leon, an enthusiastic young schoolteacher who seeks to cure the village of Kulyenchikov from the curse of chronic stupidity from which they have been suffering for 200 years.

“Bye Bye Birdie”
Erin Bond directs.
Roles include 6 women and 5 men and large ensemble of any gender.
Play is staged August 8-11, 2024

About the Play
Set in 1958, “Bye Bye Birdie,” the musical, tells the story of a talent agent, Albert, and his girlfriend, Rosie, trying to save Almaelou Music Company after their star client, Conrad Birdie, gets drafted into the army.
