From the Northeast and Northwest (Morgantown, Wheeling, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Baltimore, OH, PA) via I-68 in West Virginia:
From I-68 in WV (between Morgantown and the MD border), take exit 23 “Bruceton Mills / SR 26”. Turn south on SR 26 (toward Kingwood) and go 13 miles to the town of Albright. Just before the bridge, turn left onto County Route 712 “Cadell/St. Joe Road”. DO NOT cross the Cheat River at Albright.
Follow Cadell/St. Joe Road south along the Cheat River for 3 miles. At SR 7, turn left (east) up Briery Mountain and go 8 miles to the town of Terra Alta. Go most of the way through town to CR 47 / “Toy Street” (landmark: 2 banks on the corners).
Turn left onto Toy Street and go about 1/2 mile to Terra Alta Lake Road. Turn right onto TA Lake Road and go about 3/10 mile to a gated lane on the left with the “Mountain Nature Camp” sign.
From KY and western VA: From Charleston WV, take I-79 N to US 33 East (near Weston) to US 219 North (Elkins).
From Richmond VA and Southeast: Take I-81 to Harrisonburg; take US 33 West to SR 32 North (Harman) to US 219 North (Thomas).
From D.C.: From Winchester VA (on I-81) take US 50 West to US 219 North.
Once on US 219 North (Garrett Hwy), follow it into Oakland, MD. At the N. Third St. light, go straight ahead onto SR 39 West / “Oak St” (over arched railroad bridge).
Follow SR 39 W about 6 miles to the West Virginia border. SR 39 becomes West Virginia SR 7 W.
Follow SR 7 West about 4 miles into the town of Terra Alta. Turn right on CR 47 / “Toy Street” (landmark: 2 banks on the corners). Go about 1/2 mile to Terra Alta Lake Road. Turn right onto TA Lake Road and go about 3/10 mile to a gated lane on the left with the “Mountain Nature Camp” sign.
