Oglebay Institute’s annual Antiques Show & Sale kicks-off with the Dessert with Antiques Preview Party 7-10pm Friday, April 3 at Oglebay Park’s Wilson Lodge.
This popular event includes an enticing array of sweets and coffees along with a special sneak peek of the show. A cash bar is also available.
Tickets are $30 per person and includes repeat admission to the show Saturday and Sunday.

Other special events take place Friday, including the popular Preview cocktail at Oglebay Institute’s shimmering Glass Museum. Guests enjoy great food and an open bar and get to roam the Museums’ 3000 examples of historic Wheeling glass.

Oglebay Institute’s annual Antiques Show & Sale is the largest and longest-running in West Virginia, and among the oldest in the country. Quality merchandise and diverse inventory will appeal to both experienced collectors and novice buyers. More than 50 dealers from 10 states are featured.
General show hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, April 4 and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, April 5. General admission is $12.

An Evening of Wine AND Beer! Oglebay Institute has combined its Art of Wine series and its Art and Ale craft beer series into one special event.
Enjoy the best of both worlds Friday, April 10 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center! The event begins at 6:30pm.
A buffet of foods from Ye Olde Alpha will be served. Guests will also enjoy live music and can browse the current art exhibition on display.
$35 ($30 OI members)

More than just a beer tasting. . .
Oglebay Institute’s wine & beer tasting events are must-attend social gatherings in the Wheeling area. During the events, you can also view the art exhibit on display in the gallery and explore the elegant mansion. During warm weather, stroll through the sculpture gardens. You can purchase your favorite wines & brews to take home, too. Most of all, unwind and have fun. Although events begin at 6:30 p.m., you can arrive early to meet the friendly staff. And, at some events, guided tours of the art exhibit are offered at 6 p.m.

Sample 4-6 wines while enjoying a five-course dinner 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 24 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center.
Oglebay Institute hosts some of Wheeling’s most popular wine events. The Art of Wine series features wine and food pairings in the elegant, yet intimate, splendor of one of Wheeling’s grand properties. The 100-year-old Edemar Mansion (now known as the Stifel Fine Arts Center) is the former home of one of Wheeling’s most prominent families and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

During wine events, you will enjoy four to six wines and heavy hors d’ oeuvres. And learn tips on selecting and serving wines. You can also view the art on display in the gallery. As you explore the historic mansion, you will marvel at the stained glass windows, grand central staircase, marble floors and the majestic fireplace in the formal living room. During warm weather, stroll through the gardens. You can purchase your favorite vintages, too. Most of all, unwind and have fun.
