Jazz at the Stifel presents Craig Davis Trio 8pm Saturday, March 9, 2024.
Craig Davis is a highly gifted and formally trained pianist with more than 30 years of professional experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and educator.
Craig studied privately with Bobby Cardillo during his formative years and was mentored in prominent local bands led by Roger Humphries and Kenny Blake. He was a “lifer” at Shady Side Academy. He received a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington and a master’s degree in Jazz Arts from Manhattan School of Music.
Craig was a member of Sean Jones’ quintet “Mission Statement” and toured with Artie Shaw Orchestra. His NYC trio debuted at “The Kitano” and headlined at Pittsburgh JazzLive International.
Craig was music director, conductor, and pianist for Pittsburgh Playhouse Grand Opening Gala in downtown Pittsburgh. Most recently, he presented a lecture recital at the Frick Art Museum in collaboration with the exhibit “Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen.”

The 100-year-old Edemar Mansion (now known as the Stifel Fine Arts Center) is the former home of one of Wheeling’s most prominent families and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
While enjoying a selection of desserts and wines that are available for purchase at all shows, marvel at the stained glass windows, grand central staircase, marble floors and the majestic fireplace in the formal living room. During warm weather, stroll through the gardens. You can also view the art on display in the gallery.

Enjoy an afternoon of classical music with pianist Gerald Lee in one of Wheeling’s grand, historic properties.
Lee is an acclaimed pianist and is professor of piano at West Liberty University, where he has been a full-time faculty member since 2002. Solo recitals have been performed throughout the U.S. His 2010 solo recital for the Charleston Chamber Music Society was lauded by the Charleston Daily Mail as an “overwhelming musical success…Gerald Lee upheld the Charleston Chamber Music Society’s reputation for bringing top-rated artists to their Christ Church United Methodist venue.” Competition accolades include winning the 2009 Pittsburgh Concert Society Major Artist Auditions.Dr. Lee earned three piano performance degrees: B.M., M.M., and D.M.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University, the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, respectively.

New Age Adenas offers an eclectic mix of originals and our unique take on covers from artists such as Donna the Buffalo, Johnny Cash, Madonna, Trampled by Turtles, Grateful Dead, and many others.
The band name was derived from the Native American people and culture, the Adenas, who are known for their many burial mounds.
Members are Mary Blake on vocals, guitar, hand percussion; Eric Wellman on guitar, vocals and Greg Pawlack on mandolin, fiddle, vocals.

Join us for a night of captivating storytelling through song, celebrating the release of Ananga Martin’s sophmore album, Santa Ana. You are invited to share in the profound beauty of her musical inner world and the mesmerizing landscapes that have shaped her artistry. Step into a world where melodies tell the story of a life lived between sun-drenched California orange groves and the lush hollers of Appalachia.
Guided by an unwavering commitment to authenticity, the recording process of Santa Ana embraced a raw and intimate approach. Captured live with minimal processing during mixing, the natural dynamics of each song were preserved, allowing the essence of the music to resonate with unfiltered honesty.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a truly unforgettable album release showcase featuring the incredible talents of Adrian Niles, Matt Smith, Chad Burrall, Logan Seidler, and Jay Demko.
Artist Olivia Michele will be painting during the show, channeling the music into visual art. The finished painting will be raffled off at the end of the evening, with the proceeds going to HoH Share, Inc. to help with end of life expenses for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
