About Jenny Wilson Trio

Jenny Wilson is a composer, pianist, flutist and vocalist. Originally from Queens, New York, Jenny is a graduate of West Virginia University’s Master of Music in Jazz Pedagogy program and has toured in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. While an undergraduate studying at the University of Southern Maine she was awarded the Willie Maiden prize for composition and the Rossini Club Scholarship for flute performance. Jenny was a scholarship student at the Winterthur Konservatorium in Switzerland where she studied flute with Marianne Stucki. She also studied piano with ECM recording artist Art Lande.

She and her bassist husband Nathan Wilson are full time working musicians in the Mid-Atlantic region with forays to Florida and Maine. Recent performances include the Women in Jazz Festival in Washington, DC, a monthly residency in Silver Spring with a quintet and performances with her trio at the City of Asylum in Pittsburgh, PA.

Jenny has been awarded several grants for professional development by the state of West Virginia and is also a concert producer and promoter in Morgantown, WV, working with the city and the department of parks and recreation. Jenny is a juried Tamarack visual artist and has been selected as one of the Mid-Atlantic’s best emerging visual artists.

Jenny’s trio is a family affair, with son Evan Lintz on drums and husband bassist Nathan Wilson. The family trio will perform a range of music including jazz standards, original compositions, and holiday favorites.
