Jazz at the Stifel presents Craig Davis Trio 8pm Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Craig Davis is a highly gifted and formally trained pianist with more than 30 years of professional experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and educator.

Craig studied privately with Bobby Cardillo during his formative years and was mentored in prominent local bands led by Roger Humphries and Kenny Blake. He was a “lifer” at Shady Side Academy. He received a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington and a master’s degree in Jazz Arts from Manhattan School of Music.

Craig was a member of Sean Jones’ quintet “Mission Statement” and toured with Artie Shaw Orchestra. His NYC trio debuted at “The Kitano” and headlined at Pittsburgh JazzLive International.

Craig was music director, conductor, and pianist for Pittsburgh Playhouse Grand Opening Gala in downtown Pittsburgh. Most recently, he presented a lecture recital at the Frick Art Museum in collaboration with the exhibit “Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen.”

Experience big city jazz shows in Wheeling.

Some of the region’s top jazz artists perform at the Stifel Fine Arts Center on select Saturdays throughout the year. Crowd-pleasing performers, expert showman and award-winning song stylists entertain crowds in the elegant, yet intimate, splendor of one of Wheeling’s grand properties.

The 100-year-old Edemar Mansion (now known as the Stifel Fine Arts Center) is the former home of one of Wheeling’s most prominent families and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

While enjoying a selection of desserts and wines that are available for purchase at all shows, marvel at the stained glass windows, grand central staircase, marble floors and the majestic fireplace in the formal living room.
