Mountain Moon Coffeehouse Bluegrass Series: Old Hometown

Enjoy bluegrass in Wheeling at the historic Stifel Fine Arts Center! Mountain Moon Coffeehouse presents Old Hometown Saturday, March 1.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., music begins at 7 p.m.

Old Hometown, it’s the place you hold dear in your heart, it’s the place you come back to. It’s the name of a bluegrass band who makes Wheeling, WV their hometown.

Band members are Tom White, guitar, Jim Simpson, mandolin, Matt Hines, banjo and Greg Miller, upright bass. Tom White (formerly of Wheeling’s Short Crick Flatpickers) returned home to Wheeling after retiring from teaching in Maine. His return was a good excuse to get together with his old friends to start playing music together again. Jim Simpson along with Matt Hines also play with Cabin Fever String Band. Greg Miller also plays fiddle with Brother Randall and Friends.

Admission is $15 ($12.50 OI members) and includes coffee, tea and light snacks. Beer, wine, soft drinks, and merchandise available for purchase.

Crowd-pleasing performers, expert pickers, talented vocalists and captivating storytellers entertain crowds with foot-stomping tunes and expressive ballads. Shows take place in the historic 100-year-old Stifel Fine Arts Center.
