About the Movie

A riveting legal drama, “A Few Good Men” follows the court-martial of two U.S. Marines charged with the murder of a fellow Marine.

A brash Navy lawyer, a gung-ho litigator, and a fanatical Guantanamo Bay Colonel are confronted with complex issues of loyalty and honor—including its most sacred code.

The A-list ensemble cast includes Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Pollak, J. T. Walsh, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Kiefer Sutherland.

Written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Rob Reiner, “A Few Good Men” was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

In the closing act of the film, Nicholson delivers a masterful performance during a courtroom tirade in which he delivers the iconic, oft-quoted line, “You can’t handle the truth!”

Moviegoers have the option to have dinner in Towngate’s social room prior to the screening. Park once and enjoy twice the fun!

Dinners will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. before each film. After dinner, head upstairs for the movie at 7:30 p.m. The cost for dinner is $30 and includes your seat for the movie, all food, coffee, tea, water and a box of popcorn to enjoy during the film. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

The menu for January 13 includes Spaghetti & Meatballs or Chicken Alfredo (select one), Veggie Blend, Caesar Salad, and Chocolate Marble Cake.

You must make reservations for dinner by 2pm Monday prior to the screening. You don’t need to make reservations for the film.

Towngate: A unique movie theater in Wheeling.

A church-turned-theater, Towngate is located in Wheeling’s historic Centre Market District and is part of the nonprofit Oglebay Institute. Towngate offers entertainment almost every weekend including theater, improv, live music, children’s theater and more. A variety of acting classes are offered year-round.
