About the Movie

Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” transports viewers to an extraordinary world filled with magic and wonder, where every holiday has its own special land. This is the heartfelt tale of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town and all things that go bump in the night. Bored with the same old tricks and treats, he yearns for something more, and soon stumbles upon the glorious magic of Christmas Town. When Jack decides to bring this joyful holiday back to Halloween Town, his dream to fill Santa’s shoes unravels, and it’s up to Sally, the rag doll who loves him, to stitch things together again.

You Can Have Dinner, too!

Moviegoers have the option to have dinner in Towngate’s social room prior to the screening. Park once and enjoy twice the fun!

Dinners will be served promptly at 6:30 p.m. before each film. After dinner, head upstairs for the movie at 7:30 p.m. The cost for dinner is $30 and includes your seat for the movie, all food, coffee, tea, water and a box of popcorn to enjoy during the film. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

The menu for the evening includes Baked Steak or Pork Loin (select one), Scalloped Potatoes, Corn, Tossed Salad, Halloween Dirt Cake..

You must make reservations for dinner by 5pm Wednesday prior to the screening. You don’t need to make reservations for the film.

Towngate: A unique movie theater in Wheeling.

A church-turned-theater, Towngate is located in Wheeling’s historic Centre Market District and is part of the nonprofit Oglebay Institute. Towngate offers entertainment almost every weekend including theater, improv, live music, children’s theater and more. A variety of acting classes are offered year-round.

As a single screen cinema, Towngate celebrates the significance of the small-town movie house by bringing classic films back to the big screen.
