Lilianna Hardt Art Exhibition - Towngate Theatre

Towngate Theatre hosts the work of watercolor & ink artist Lilianna Hardt June 3 – July 27.

Lilianna Hardt is a West Virginia native residing in Bethany and currently studying Art Education at West Liberty University. She takes influence from Frida Kahlo and other female impressionists. Her art is influenced by her own experience as a young woman, and women in her life – drawing through the lens of her emotions and often creates pieces portraying family, friends and loved ones. Some of her favorite mediums include Watercolor, Ink, Acrylic, Oil Pastel, Charcoal and Colored Pencil. Hardt believes the power of art comes from its transcendence of language among barriers. Her work expresses themes of female empowerment and greater understanding with an intent to give a voice to the silent.

The exhibition is on display through July 27. The Gallery at Towngate is open 11am-1pm Monday through Friday and during all events.

Towngate Theatre is well known in Wheeling and its surrounding communities for community theater productions, children’s theater, concerts, ballet, film screenings, spoken word and other performing arts events. But did you know that Towngate is also an art gallery?

The Gallery at Towngate is a small space gallery that features the work of local and/or emerging artists and focuses on community engagement, inclusion and the mingling of visual and performing arts.
