Towngate Theatre hosts Megan Chacalos: Kinda Famous, starring Megan Chacalos & Jake Bryan Guthrie. Two shows take place—7pm Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16.
About the Show
Back by popular demand, Megan Chacalos is, once again, venturing from New York City to join us at Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre. A WPHS & Towngate alum, Megan is an Off-Broadway Actor, Broadway Producer, & and newly appointed TikTok star.
After years of being told to copy Judy, Barbara, and Liza; Megan Chacalos accidentally falls into viral fame by doing the scariest thing imaginable- being herself. What is that exactly? The weirdest, Greekest, Appalachian on Broadway. At least in her head.
A night of showtimes and standup, Megan reflects on where she’s went wrong and re-evaluates what it really means to be “kinda famous.”
With songs such as, “Broadway Baby,” “People,” “Maybe This Time,” & “Let Me Be Your Star,” this will be an evening of entertainment for theater lovers of all ages.

About Megan
Megan Chacalos (She/Her) is an actor and producer based in New York City. Originally from Wheeling, WV. Off-Broadway credits include Tilly Evans in She Kills Monsters (Theatre Row,) Beelzebub in A Tuesday in Hell (AMIOS,) Henrietta in Thin Sliced Crust (AMIOS,) & Elena in The Boar (Stella Adler.) TV/FILM credits; The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Madame Secretary, & Blue Bloods. Megan is most notably known as the host of Broadway Interludes and also known on the internet as “The Olive Oil Girl.”
About Jake
Jake Bryan Guthrie (He/Him) is an actor and folk musician based in New York City. Originally from Charleston. Off-Broadway credits include Chuck in She Kills Monsters (Theatre Row,) & originating the role of Ben in Gratitude (Urban Stages,) & originating the role of Jesse in Winner A New Musical (NYTheatreBarn.) Film/TV credits; The Marvelous Mrs Maisel & multiple episodes of Saturday Night Live. Jake is most notably known for his folk duo band; The Holler.
