Use the amazing material Precious Metal Clay (PMC) to create handmade jewelry at the Stifel Fine Arts Center’s February 11 workshop.
Instructor Donna Penner will lead you as you learn to form domed PMC circles. We’ll cover how to texture, shape, construct, and refine earrings and pendants in fine silver clay. Then, progress into more complex pieces like hollow beads or layered designs. Beginner students will be guided through the fundamentals, while advanced jewelry making students can explore challenging variations. One-of-a-kind polished jewelry of your own creation is the end result.
Meets 10am-5:30pm Saturday, February 11. Open to ages 14 & up. Bring a bag lunch. $110 ($95 OI members). Includes all materials.
SOLD OUT
About the instructor:
Donna Penoyer is a Pittsburgh-based handmade jewelry artisan specializing in metal clay, a medium — in her words — “responds well to both spontaneity and revision; that has the potential to look rustic or refined, austere or whimsical, with satisfying immediacy; that’s strong, beautiful, and precious; and that transforms all the way from clay to metal, from simple lump to complex construction.”
Teaching various workshops throughout the region since 2006, Donna loves helping others discover the metal clay medium and the rewarding work creativity can produce. See her work at donnapenoyer.com.
