2020 Parcel Players productions:

Future, Here by Jeremy Richter
directed by Evan Oslund

Staged July 9-12, 2020

An unincorporated village of five randomly selected children is being monitored by Society and driven by a national effort to develop “appropriately adapted young citizens.” A smartphone is their only connection to mainstream America and is constantly fed with a steady stream of news, entertainment and culture. At the end of each day, the residents meet to share what they’ve learned.

Having lived in Future for 12 years, the residents are now 18 and it is their last day together and final meeting under the countdown clock which looms over the meeting area. Today, at 00:00:00, they will learn of their next residence outside of Future.

Hunchback of Notre Dame
Adapted by Tim Kelly from the novel by Victor Hugo
Directed by Dave Henderson

Staged July 30-August 2, 2020

Victor Hugo’s novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, is one of the great classics of world literature. This exciting dramatization by Tim Kelly, one of America’s most popular playwrights, captures the essence of the famous original. It brings to life some of the most memorable fictional characters ever created including the good-hearted bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, Quasimodo.

The play defers from tragic denouement of the novel. Audiences young and old will find themselves entertained by this significant look at Victor Hugo’s famous story.
